In the 1950's, Buick served as the luxury brand to bridge the gap
between Chevrolet and Cadillac. That becomes evident in their
beautifully styling and well optioned automobiles. At the time, the
Buick Special was the entry level model for the brand but could be
had in the more luxurious Riviera trim package. That is exactly
what we have here in this beautiful 1956 Buick Special Riviera.
When the Buick Special Riviera 4-door was introduced, it featured a
pillarless styling that was completely new for the brand. The
pillarless design allowed the 4-door to have the same uninterrupted
body styling that was seen in the 2-door coupes. This Buick Special
Riviera is in very good condition overall and benefits from an
older repaint in its factor colors of White over Apricot over
White. The exterior paint shines very well and is in good condition
with only minor defects to note. The White and Apricot exterior is
complimented nicely by the Buick's factory chrome and stainless
trim and factory wheels equipped with later model wire hubcaps
wrapped in wide white wall tires. The beautiful presentation of
this Buick earned it a spot on the 1992 GM Goodwrench calendar.
Powering this great Buick is its original 322 cubic inch Fireball
V8 backed by its 2-speed Dynaflow automatic transmission. Both the
engine and transmission perform very well and have no issue pulling
this gorgeous Buick down the road. This Buick Special Riviera is
nicely equipped with factory options such as: power steering, power
brakes, air conditioning (in-op), AM radio, heater/defrost and
variable speed wipers. This great Buick is nicely documented by its
original owners manual, original Buick Delco Battery warranty
certificate, and original Buick owner service policy. Included with
the sale of this Buick are the original hubcaps belonging to the
vehicle. If you are in the market for a turn key ready 50's sedan
that runs and drives very well and would present well at your local
cruise-in, then you will want to take a very close look at this
striking 1956 Buick Special Riviera.
