Vehicle Description
STK 3664 1939 Ford Standard 5 Window Coupe
When the '39 Ford rolled off the assembly line, it was a car with a
function - legal or otherwise - that it performed very well. Now,
decades later, this 1939 Ford Standard Coupe, carefully restored in
1976, is a classic piece of art.
(Original Bill-of-Sale and some receipts included.) The exterior
was professionally refinished in Ford Black and sports virtually
flawless chrome/stainless. The carefully detailed interior was
beautifully reupholstered in tan cloth with a bench seat, nice door
cards/headliner and a beautiful walnut dash with working factory
gauges. Period correct knobs complete the interior package. The
Ford Standard is powered by the 221ci flathead that has been
rebuilt. It appears to be the original '81A' version of the motor
that utilizes 24-bolt heads with coolant inlets positioned in the
center of the heads. This flathead outputs 85hp with 146lb/ft and
is backed by a 3-speed manual transmission with floor shift.
Suspension features include manual steering, solid front axle with
transverse leaf spring and semi-floating rear axle with transverse
'Liquor' leaf springs. Hydraulic drums provide braking (first year)
and 16" steel wheels w/dog-dish hubcaps mount Garfield wide-white
bias tires. This '39 Ford Standard coupe has been wonderfully
preserved and is a great ride. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS"
