Vehicle Description
STK 3661 1962 Jaguar MK2
The world was introduced to the sports saloon in 1955 by the very
successful Jaguar Mk1. Four years later, the Mk2 was launched and
approximately 85,000 were produced. The Jaguar Mk2 was once
considered the fastest saloon vehicle in the world - 'the
pre-eminent criminal getaway-car of the day'. This 1962 Jaguar Mk2
sedan appears to have lived a very good, crime-free life and is in
outstanding condition. It has been the beneficiary of a careful,
older, restoration and the owner states that the mileage shown,
32,600, is actual. The Opalescent Blue exterior was professionally
refinished in 2016, all chrome is in good nick and factory wire
wheels mount new 15" Vredestein Sprint Classic radials. The
original Connelly Red leather interior is stunning. Accents include
'book-matched' burl wood walnut dash/trim, Wilton wool
carpeting/headliner, rear tray tables, analogue gauges, AM radio
and telescoping wheel. Window glass is in good condition (crank
windows) and there are pairs of front/rear 'venting windows'.
Horsepower is furnished by a matching numbers 3.8-liter DOHC
in-line 6-cylinder fitted w/factory aluminum head and dual
side-draft SU carbs that were recently refreshed. It was rated at
220hp and 245lb/ft of torque - this was the Jaguar XKE motor less
one carb and about 25hp. Torque is transferred to a rebuilt (2016)
four-speed manual gearbox w/OD. The Mk2 has power steering and
manual 4-wheel disc brakes. Recent maintenance done by a Jaguar
restoration firm included new Lucas starter, fuel pump, battery and
front wheel bearings. There is also a reproduction Owner's Manual,
documentation folder and the extremely rare original jack and tool
kit. This is a beautiful, classic Jaguar Mk2 sedan that will soon
find a new home. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
