Hey, Hey! It's the Monkeemobile! If you squint your eyes, this
looks exactly like the famous Monkeemobile. I'm just having fun and
that's what the new owner will be having. This is on a 1959 VW
floor and driveline. The restoration was just finished in 2023.
EXTERIOR: This is a rare Berry Mini T body style. It features a
square grill, long flowing fenders, and it's a 4 passenger. The
fiberglass is in excellent shape and has a new high gloss red
paint. Custom decals were made for the Monkees logo on each side
and the GTO grill. A one-of-a-kind fiberglass blower and air
cleaner scoop were made that look very similar to the original. It
also has a pretend parachute in back. It has a tall windshield with
a touring style convertible top. It has full set of working lights
and turn signals. It's rolling on some chrome wheels with
spinners.
INTERIOR: The interior is finished off nicely. 2 new bucket seats
in front with seat belts, reupholstered bench seat in back. The
floor has new carpet. It has a clean dash with original VW
speedometer and new fuel and volt gauges. Vintage style steering
wheel. Original VW shifter and e-brake.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Less than 1,000 miles on the rebuilt motor.
It's a 1959 VW built to 1600 CCs with dual port heads and is making
75 hp. Several components look fresh: fuel pump, carb, coil,
distributor, cap and wires. The tins are painted nicely.
UNDERSIDE: It looks real clean underneath. The pan is solid with 2
patches. The front end components are clean. It has new KYB gas
shocks. New brake hoses, lines, and e-brake cables. In back it
looks like the e-brake cables. The dual exhaust system looks to be
in real good shape.
SERVICE: This buggy passed our mechanic s inspection with ease. It
functions properly.
Fun, that's what this is all about. Anywhere you take it there will
be smiles, chuckles and comments. Count how many times people sing
"Hey, Hey! We're the Monkees". You will be making the world a
better place!
