In 1976 the evolution of the Jaguar breed continued. The iconic
E-type was retired in 1974 and a new XJS Coupe was introduced.
While this car carried forward the Jaguar DNA, the new XJS was a
true luxury touring car. It succeeded in providing comfort and
effortless cruising ability. Its design took a modern approach with
aggressive lines. Its sales were steady year after year. It carried
an impressive price tag which reflected the luxury touches and
mechanics that provided great performance. In May of 1991 the third
iteration of the XJS was introduced. There were many improvements
to reliability and enhancements to its appearance. Ford was the new
owner and breathed new life into this aging product. Brakes were
moved to the less complicated out board position to go with the
existing ABS; the automatic transmission was updated to a 4 speed
with overdrive. In 1992 this was an expensive luxury cruiser with
prices that listed in the $80,000+ range. A production run over
twenty years turned out over 100,000 copies. Loving owners took
exceptional care of these cars resulting in well maintained low
mileage examples at reasonable collector prices still available for
sale. Eastern Shore Classic Cars is thrilled to offer this 1992
Jaguar XJS Series III 12 Cylinder Convertible. It is in amazing
condition - definitely excellent driver quality. Standard equipment
includes leather seats, AM/FM Cassette (which has been updated, but
original goes with the car), A/C, Driver Air Bag, PB, PS, PW, tilt
steering, Automatic with overdrive. The paint, interior and top are
original and are beautifully maintained. The only obvious cosmetic
issue is some corrosion on the wheels which could be brought back
to a better appearance - see pictures. Under the care of the
present owner, the brakes have been done, tires replaced, A/C
compressor replaced, and other normal maintenance as required
performed. Extensive records of all maintenance and repair of this
car go with it on sale. It has been garaged throughout its life up
until now. The owner lost his storage so the car needs to be moved
inside to maintain its wonderful appearance. The odometer shows
approximately 46,000 miles and based on records and condition it is
believed to be correct. Driven sparingly due to some serious health
problems that came on after purchase, this car is ready for a new
home that will love it and keep it as did its former owners. The
car is located in southeastern Connecticut with the owner's son,
but currently registered in neighboring Rhode Island. We strongly
recommend an in-person inspection or that an interested party send
a trusted representative to evaluate the car and report on its
condition. It is being sold as is, where is. No warranty is
provided nor implied. Come drive this wonderful Jaguar XJS away for
$15,850. Price reduced... $12,000 Please feel free to contact us
