15,906 actual mile survivor! This was a one owner car until 2014.
World renowned Mopar collector Tim Wellborn acquired it for his
museum, he focused on original unmolested cars. This car was even
featured in Mopar Action magazine with Tim speaking highly of the
desirability of the 1973-1974 Chargers. This must be one of the
best originals anywhere. It includes the magazine, original
invoice, build sheet and other literature.
EXTERIOR: I am amazed that this is all original, it looks like a
freshly restored car! The body is outstanding, it's never heard of
the word rust. It's straight and literally opened and closed the
doors with my pinky. It has its original Bright Red paint from the
factory. Still glossy with only very minor imperfections. It still
has its original dealer's emblem on back and painted on pinstripe.
The SE comes with a vinyl roof and louvered quarter windows, it is
also in excellent shape. The original moldings, bumpers, grills,
glass are in really great shape. It originally came with hubcaps;
it was upgraded with some Cragars and white letter BFG tires.
INTERIOR: It has the deluxe Brougham interior which includes wood
grain trim. It is just about perfect and it's original! You will be
looking at a dash that still looks new! The knobs, instruments,
levers, vents, steering wheel, inside the glove box and even the
ashtray is mint. It's factory AM/FM radio is still in place. The
carpet is excellent, and it does also have some embroidered mats
too. The bucket seats have great cushion, and the upholstery is
pristine. The center console is about the nicest one I've seen. The
door panels are mint, headliner is in excellent shape. I have seen
thousands of cars; I can't stress enough how impressed I am with
this interior!
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Original 318 motor runs smooth. It is
completely stock: manifolds, valve covers, air cleaner, brackets
etc. It is complete with the overflow bottle, heat riser tube, the
washers are hooked up, battery is secured etc., pollution can is
hooked up. Reproduction hoses and clamps. It features power
steering and power brakes.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's a time capsule! It is all clean metal with
its original red paint in great shape, even under the mat! The
trunk light works. It even has the original decal and weather
strip. It has a spare the jack looks like it's never been used. The
mat and rear seat insulation look like new.
UNDERSIDE: Rock solid and well preserved original. It's recently
had a front end alignment and tierod ends were replaced. Original
single exhaust system with a replacement resonator. It features
disc brakes in front, e-brake is still hooked up. It has its
original Torqueflite 904 automatic, the pan gasket was replaced. It
has its original rear end with cruising gears. The floors, braces
and frame rails are rock solid with no rust!
SERVICE: We inspected the car and replaced the fuel pump, a reverse
light bulb, front shocks, gave it a front end alignment and
repaired the ground to right taillight.
This is one of the best survivors I've owned! It looks practically
new, drives and functions like new too. The fact this is from the
Wellborn collection says everything about this car, it is
exceptional. You can restore any car; you can't go back and make
one original. This is a rare find!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
