Stock Number: 1916 - This is a 1976 Trans AM SE 455 - 4 Speed -
This is the year that started it all. This was the first year
Pontiac offered the Black Y82 Limited Edition and this is certainly
a very nice one. There are only 54,910 on it. It is 1 of only 110
built with the Hurst T-Tops and a 455ci - V8. It is as rare as they
come and Pure Pontiac Royalty. With the Hurst T-Tops, a 455 and 4
speed configuration, it is one of the hardest Trans AM's to find
and there are very few people that are lucky enough to have one in
their collection. 1976 also marked the end of the Large
Displacement 455ci engine for GM and Pontiac. The reasons this is a
valuable collectible are endless.
This TA has only had 2 owners. It was sold New at Adams Pontiac in
Indiana in February 1976. That ownership lasted until 2016 when the
2nd owner purchased it. It has always been well cared for. This
Limited Edition was repainted in 1988 and still shows very well
today. The original engine and transmission were rebuilt in 2022
and is fully documented in receipts. The engine was built with
better heads (#96) and a performance CAM. It was fully balanced
with all new internals and a resurfaced fly wheel and clutch. The
Transmission was also rebuilt, so you will be smoothly sliding
through the gears. There is some real Pontiac Excitement that is
felt when you drive this Trans AM. The interior is in beautiful
original condition. If you want a top of the line, low mileage,
collectible Trans AM that is ready to drive and enjoy, this is the
one you have been waiting for.
