• Paint and Body

The Red finish on this car takes one back to when the car was at the Pontiac dealership in 1967 as people came out for their first glimpse of the new GTOs.    The bold color of the body makes a wonderful contrast with the Black interior. 

The underside of this GTO appears solid and sound (please see the pictures).

• Interior

The Black vinyl interior is clean and fresh-looking, as one would expect in such a carefully restored car.

The gauges all work as do the lights and horn. The speedometer and turn signals likewise work properly.  The clock, however, is stuck back in the late ‘60s and the backup lights will need attention!

• Engine

This GTO’s replacement 400 V-8 engine which was rebuilt by Pacific Performance Racing in San Pedro California. The engine was disassembled and the block was subjected to thermal cleaning before receiving a hydraulic cam and a stroker crank which increased its displacement to 460 cubic inches.  The engine’s output was increased from the factory 360 to 420hp on the dyno after the rebuild. At the turn of the key the engine comes to life with a promising exhaust rumble through Doug’s headers.

• Transmission

The 4-speed transmission works smoothly, allowing in-town cruising and at-track performance; and the car’s handling is enhanced by the limited slip differential.

• Brakes

There are power disc brakes on the front wheels and drum on the rear, bringing this GTO to a quick halt from any speed.
