Vehicle Description
-Gris Fume (Smoke Grey) Metallic with Brown leather interior and
Brown carpets, 1,000 ORIGINAL KILOMETERS/600 MILES FROM NEW,
5-Speed manual ZF gearbox, 1 only 21 Left-Hand-Drive Examples of
Just 50 Production V8 Vantage Zagato Coupes Manufactured.
The V8 Vantage Zagato was originally introduced at the 1986 Geneva
Motor Show. This V8 Vantage Zagato Coupe is 1 of only 50 production
examples produced for the world market. The most powerful of the
production Vantage's, it is powered by X-Pack specification 5.3
liter engine using high compression pistons, larger valves than the
standard V8, larger inlet manifold and X-Pack "Zagato
specification" camshafts breathing through 48mm Weber carburetors.
It produces 423 bhp @ 6200 rpm and 395 ft lbs of torque at 5100
rpm. It will sprint from 0-60 in just 4.5 seconds and reach just
short of 200 mph.
This V8 Vantage Zagato Coupe was first delivered to Japanese
collector, Mr. Shogo Watanabe. Mr. Watanabe has this as well as two
others in his collection. This Vantage Zagato Coupe was kept in his
collection through April 2, 2005. At this time, it had accumulated
880 km's, still in its original condition, numbers matching and
original color combination, it was sold to its next and most recent
ownership, a well-known and respected Kuwatii Aston Martin
collector. It has since been housed in the Swiss portion of his
collection.
The V8 Vantage Zagato Coupe was sent immediately to Aston Martin
Works Service, Newport Pagnell, UK. Although extremely low original
miles from new, AM Works Service was instructed to renew the
Vantage Zagato. Work included an engine rebuild to 'unleaded'
specification; uprating the cooling system for 'tropical' climates;
conversion to Ronal style road wheels; replacing the entire exhaust
system; installing an Alpine radio, touchscreen DVD navigation and
six CD autochanger as well as complete overhauls of the braking,
suspension and steering systems. All detailed records from AM Works
Service are included within the history file.
Recently purchased by Autosport Designs, Inc., the Zagato has been
imported to the United States. It will receive a major servicing
throughout to refresh to make ready for immediate use or show.
Complete with all books and tools and all records, this is an
opportunity to own what is essentially a brand new V8 Vantage
Zagato Coupe, 1 of only 21 Left-Hand-Drive examples produced,
arguably one of the most important, limited manufactured Aston
Martin's from the Newport Pagnell, V8 Aston era.
