Vehicle Description
This 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu convertible restomod was built
to be an all-around awesome cruiser with an LS-based V8, four-wheel
disc brakes, an upgraded suspension, a classic bucket seat
interior, and a cool drop-top style.
Red is a timeless color and an excellent choice for a street
machine. And this one has a vibrant look of a modern clearcoat
application, so there's a kind of gloss that gives you a radiant
look in the sunshine. This car is made for driving, so it's not
looking to be too showy; just a convertible that wants you to
drive, and people talk about it long after you pull away from the
stoplight. The full-length waistline trim helps distinguish the
Malibu as a premium Chevelle. And it sets up a look with a nice
radiance from other brightwork like the wraparound chrome bumpers,
clean grille, and rocker trim. And a terrific finish touch is the
set of polished Rev alloys. They have the vintage style that goes
with an American classic like this, and it also has a 17/18-inch
front/rear stagger to give it the stance that hints at this car's
true restomod status.
With a flip of a switch, the top folds back to reveal a full black
interior. So this offers a well-coordinated color combo with the
roof up or down. The door panels, dash, headliner, carpeting, and
upholstery were all upgraded later in life to black, and so this
stock style feels much fresher than the 1960s. And there's an
SS-style feeling that comes from front bucket seats and a center
console. So it's a driver's drop-top. That's also why you have nice
cruising upgrades like an AM/FM/cassette stereo, under-dash
auxiliary gauges, and even a tilt steering column.
The engine bay has a tidy style that lets you see the power within.
This is a 5.3L LS-based V8. It's built for solid power with a
Holley four-barrel carburetor, a Holley intake, and shorty headers
feeding the rumbling dual exhaust and Xlerator mufflers. You'll
even spot good supporting components, like the Be Cool radiator,
Holley oil pan, and aluminum valve covers. It's a strong runner,
and the TH400 three-speed automatic transmission is the ideal
balance of strong construction to handle the added power while also
being a smooth shifter for easy cruising. This kind of versatile
setup is also seen in the upgraded suspension that includes a
Hotchkis tubular A-arm front end with adjustable coilovers, power
steering, and four-wheel power disc brakes with drilled & slotted
rotors.
This is the ideal Chevelle Malibu convertible made to be a restomod
that loves to hit the road. So if you want a classic drop-top ready
to drive, you can't let this one slip away. Call today!!!
