One family ownership. 1970 Chevrolet C20, 350, three speed automatic, towing package, matching numbers pickup. Was parked in a garage from 1970 until 1995 and was used primarily as a hunting and fishing vehicle during those years, carrying a camper and pulling a boat. From the fall of 1995 until July 2011, it was a daily driver. It was running until February of 2022 when the aftermarket distributor ate away the worm gear on the end of the camshaft while in the repair shop having the brand-new carb fine-tuned. We spent over a year waiting for a speed shop slot to open for an engine replacement. When the final quote to replace the engine, upgrade to fuel injection, and upgrade the transmission came in, the price was over our budget, leaving nothing left over to fix up other issues. Therefore, we had to give up our dream of fixing the truck and put it up for sale, “as is, where is”.
Have shop invoices back to 1996 showing the truck has been serviced and repaired as required over the years. The mileage listed on the 1996 work order was 68150. Truck since 2017 (mileage 12909) has had: new tires, new gas tank behind the seat, new heater core, new carb which will need to be rebuilt now, two new window cranks installed - one in each door, new starter and solenoid, and new brake master cylinder. Understanding based upon what we were told is the truck needs to have the engine flushed, new camshaft, new distributor which will not damage the new camshaft, new engine oil, the transmission fluid checked, the battery charged, the carb rebuilt, clean fuel, new fuel pump, and it should start and run down the road. Until it is pulled apart we will not know for sure what is needed. Also have a list of the items we had planned to have repaired/fix during the refurbishing process.)
