Before the new millennium started, Chevrolet decided to make 1999
the final model year for the two-door Tahoe model. This pristine
example has only had 2 previous owners according to the Autocheck
report and is now showing only 12,xxx miles on the clock. In the
condition that of a new truck throughout.
This example was made in General Motors' Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico
factory in May 1999. It was then delivered to Watson
Chevrolet-Oldsmobile in Murrysville, Pennsylvania. It left the
assembly line with the following options - remote keyless entry,
power locks, power driver's seat, air-conditioning, power sideview
mirrors, tilt steering column, cruise control, power windows,
electrochromic rearview mirror with compass and external
temperature, leather-wrapped steering wheel, color-keyed floor
mats, deep tint glass, luggage rack and aluminum wheels.
Other options include heavy-duty trailering equipment, Instatrac
active transfer case, running board steps, locking rear
differential, heavy-duty auxiliary transmission cooling system,
high-back reclining bucket seats with center and roof consoles,
AM/FM stereo with cassette and CD player and rear window wiper
w/defroster.
Dressed in Light Pewter Metallic (code 11U), the SUV's paint and
trim are in overall excellent order, the bodywork is straight and
solid, the engine bay is immaculate, the cargo bay is clean and
houses a full-size spare tire. The battery looks clean and the
chrome bumpers fit tightly to the body.
This SUV rolls on Goodyear Wrangler R/TS light truck tires, size
P265/75R16 at all four corners. The tires are in very good order
while the five-spoke alloy wheels are in excellent order. This
truck has a 111.5-inch wheelbase, a 6,250-pound GVWR and a
30-gallon fuel tank.
Under that counterbalanced hood is a Vortec 5700 5.7L V-8 engine
with sequential fuel injection (code L31). The motor is backed by a
four-speed automatic transmission (code 4L60E), an Instatrac active
transfer case from New Venture and a 3.42:1 locking rear end.
Driver convenience features are lengthy - air-conditioning, cruise
control, speed-sensitive power steering, power disc/drum brakes,
power driver's seat, keyless entry, tilt steering column, power
windows, electrochromic rearview mirror with compass and external
temperature indicators.
Safety equipment includes Passlock theft deterrent, dual front
airbags, daytime running lights, anti-lock brakes,
brake/transmission shift interlock and side door guard beams.
Inside, the truck wear gray custom cloth (code 13). The front
buckets with fold-down armrests, and a three-person rear bench
seat. The matching carpet and headliner are in a similar great
state. The four-spoke steering wheel looks great while the inner
door panels and the instrument panel looks new, along with a full
slate of ancillary gauges. A column-mounted shift lever and a
factory Delco-Bose AM/FM stereo with cassette deck and extended
range speakers completes the interior.
Competition to this Chevrolet in 1999 included Dodge's Durango,
Ford's Expedition, GMC's Yukon, Jeep's Grand Cherokee, Lexus'
LX470, Lincoln's Navigator and Mercedes-Benz's ML430.
