Vehicle Description
1986 Chevrolet K-10 Pickup
C/K is a series of trucks that were manufactured by General Motors.
Marketed under the Chevrolet and GMC brands, the C/K series
included a wide range of vehicles. While most commonly associated
with pickup trucks, the model line also included chassis-cab trucks
and medium-duty trucks and served as the basis for GM full-size
SUVs. Used for both the model branding and the internal model code,
"C" denoted two-wheel drive; "K" denoted four-wheel drive.
For consignment. a hauler, a 4x4, a comfy driver, and with a
desirable short bed which is covered, all wrapped up in a no rust
body, some shiny running boards and 15-inch rally wheels.
Exterior
Known as the rounded line as tagged by GM, the lines appear to be
more square and rectangle than anything else. This includes a
rectangular grille with square headlights in square bezel panels
and a shiny bumper below. Straight rust free steel wraps all sides
and the bed, and all support well minded gaps. Crisp clean white
covers the entirety of the body and remains in good condition
covering the rust free body thanks to repairs and paint work on the
lower body sections. Some thin stainless trimmings finish off the
wheel wells and just above is a chrome trimmed white plastic filled
rub strip that runs rearward from behind the front wheel openings
and wraps around the lower edge of the tailgate. Black and
stainless trimmings border the crystal clear glass of the cab
including the optional sliding glass rear window. The bed is lined
with a black rubber floor liner and the sides and front bulkhead
show in nicely applied white paint. On top is a vinyl snap on
tonneau cover in black to weatherproof the bed as well. 15-inch
rally wheels are wrapped by 31x10.50R15 raised white letter Cooper
Evolution MT all weather deep tread tires.
Interior
A swing of the doors reveals an intricate mix of black molded vinyl
with some carpeted area on the bottoms, some silver inlays, and
many differing panels to make up just the doors. Inside is a tweed
broadcloth pattern bench seat stretching from door to door and this
tuck and roll insert and smooth outer bolster in black vinyl
covered seat is in good condition showing little wear. In front is
the original factory configured gray black molded vinyl dash with a
silver bezel holding the black instrument cluster using round
designs for the speedometer and supporting gauges. Also within the
dash is a toggle for choosing which fuel tank you want to make use
of, right of left. Black carpet is on the floors and remains clean
but lightly faded and there are molded rubber bowtie badged floor
tray mats. Above is a tight felted headliner.
Drivetrain
Under the hood within a clean and well-maintained engine bay is a
305ci V8 engine fed by a 4-barrel carburetor and a 700R4 4-speed
automatic. A 10 bolt rear axle is on and with a pull of the floor
level you can engage the 10 bolt front axle to get you out of those
sticky spots. Overall the engine bay is free of any corroded parts
and just shows some dirt and dust.
Undercarriage
Minor speckles of surface rust pepper the various undercarriage
parts. All remains very solid and really clean with little road
dirt spills seen. Leaf springs are on all 4 corners and power disc
brakes are upfront, and power drums for the rear.
Drive-Ability
A quick starter, and fine driver with easy power steering, good
cornering, nice smooth acceleration with plenty of power. All
functions were working at the time of the test drive.
A nice survivor example that has been well taken care of throughout
its history. Whether it be your main mode of transportation, or a
second truck for a farm or ranch or cabin location, you are sure to
have years of reliable service left in this truck. No rust, and it
will be well accepted as is. Go on, get to hauling!
