Description:
With 288,430 sold, the upscale 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix set a sales
record in the final model year of its body style before the GP was
downsized. That figure was never eclipsed. Of those, 53,442 were
SJs, but how many do you think remain in pristine all-original
condition with just 10,000-miles on their odometers? This 1977
Pontiac Grand Prix SJ ticks both of those boxes. In fact, in 2016,
this 1977 SJ was evaluated and certified for Historical
Preservation of Original Features by the Antique Automobile Club of
America (AACA)
Interior:
This one is a dream to sit in! The code 97Z1 white vinyl seats with
Firethorn interior are all original and in excellent condition. The
same can be said for the carpet, headliner, and trim, as well. All
the Rally Gauges, the A/C and heater, and the aftermarket stereo
operate properly.
Exterior:
Code-36 Firethorn Red is the color that was applied at the factory,
and this car retains its original paint from 1977 with no rust, and
minimal blemishes. Those that do exist are shown in the test drive
video. The white Landau top, tinted glass, and weather seals are in
great condition and the lighting works as it should.
Drivetrain:
The 180-horsepower, 400-cu.in. OHV V8, (code-Z in the VIN) is
original to the car and a photo of the engine code and block
partial VIN stamp are shown in the gallery. Cold start is as simple
as turning the key and the three-speed automatic transmission
shifts smoothly. Date coded 2015, the P215/70R15 Firestone
Precision Touring whitewall radial tires are still soft with good
tread the seller says. Though they are 46 years old, the bushings
and shocks in the Radial Tuned Suspension have just 10,064 miles on
them, the 15-inch steel Rally II wheels are said to be excellent,
the power front disc/rear drum brakes firm, and the power steering
is tight with no leaks.

Quality Disclaimer
Due to our inventory size, we are unable to drive every vehicle for
long distances. We also cannot
guarantee that every gauge, light, window, horn, option, function,
etc., will work as it should. Please
check your local state inspection requirements. We do our best to
inspect these vehicles in every
detail and note any imperfections in the advertisement. Please note
that we do not guarantee any air
conditioning systems, gauges, or electrical systems. Given the
nature of the vintage vehicles we sell,
these components will need upkeep or attention. In addition, many
times these vehicles sit for long
periods of time and once you begin to drive them seals harden and
gaskets may begin to leak!
Classic cars leak. Please make sure you are comfortable with this
before buying a vintage
automobile. The information contained in this ad is solely for
