building is devoted exclusively to classic cars and many classics
are on display for you to see in our climate controlled showroom
area. You are currently viewing a 1947 Chevrolet street rod coupe.
Sheet metal and exterior design on the 1947 models were primarily
carried over from the early 1940s. Automotive production during
world war ll stopped in 1942 in order to allow retooling to produce
desperately needed bomber aircraft. At wars end, automotive
production for the general public resumed once again. This
thoughtfully constructed 47 Chevy Coupe is one of the nicer wide
fendered street rods we have recently seen. The two-tone teal and
cream paint accented with hand painted pin striping blends
perfectly with the body lines of this car. The aftermarket five
spoke mag wheels mounted with black wall radial tires combine
nicely with the recently restored bumpers and chrome body trim. The
dual side view sport mirrors are body colored causing them to blend
perfectly with the overall design. A look under the hood discloses
a well crafted compartment housing a Corvette LT1 V8 engine that
transfers power to the ground through a 4L60 automatic transmission
with exhaust exiting just ahead of the rear wheels. Air
conditioning has been added to keep you cool and the four core
aluminum radiator is installed to ensure the car will remain cool
during your cruises on those warm summer nights. The trunk area is
fully carpeted, a matching carpeted cover houses the twelve volt
battery and a fire extinguisher has been thoughtfully added for
your safety. Enough cannot be said about the interior, a masterful
combination of new and old. An original dashboard retains its
correct radio and chrome trim, but modern gauges have been fitted
perfectly within the dash to the left of the speedometer. A three
spoke custom wheel is fitted to a tilt steering column. The power
bucket seats and door panels have been upholstered with two tone
leather. The matching custom crafted center console houses and
AM/FM CD stereo unit, power window switches, a floor mounted
gearshift and various controls. Power steering and power disc
brakes have also been included in this build. This Chevy Coupe is
thoughtfully constructed for power, performance and comfort and
will get a good deal of attention on local cruise nights. Come in
