The Hummer H1 is based off the US military's M998 Humvee released
by AM General in 1984, was officially offered for public
consumption on March 14th, 1992. With (slightly) more creature
comforts, this truck carried several engines over its lifespan,
with a 6.5L turbodiesel offered over the majority. Big changes came
about midway through 1997 production, improvements that included an
HVAC system providing more accessibility for easier servicing along
with a blower motor that moved air more efficiently through the
cabin. This was further enhanced with standard interior sound
insulation for better cabin volume levels. The turbo diesel engine
was also improved, offering 5 additional horsepower and 45 ft. lbs.
of torque. This noticeable power increased total horsepower to 195,
and torque to 430 ft. lbs. and continued with the production H1's
through the 2003 model year. Truly the ultimate off-road vehicle
for consumer purchase until their departure from General Motors,
the H1 has now become quite collectible!
We are proud to represent this 1999 Hummer H1 4 Passenger Open Top
finished in a Black exterior with Black/Beige combination leather
interior. Powering this H1 is a 6.5L Turbodiesel V8 engine that
produces 195 horsepower with an impressive 430 ft.-lbs. of torque
mated to a GM 4-speed automatic transmission. These civilian H1
trucks are known for their American General heavy duty offroad
capabilities but also feature modern convivences including air
conditioning, heat & defrost, power windows & locks, cruise
control, Kenwood Excelon Double Din CD Radio with Navigation,
Pioneer amplifier and subwoofer enclosure, Alpine monitor for
rearview back-up camera, Cobra CB radio with mic system, Central
Tire Inflation System equipped, and brand new Black Rhino wheels
fitted with older Goodyear Wrangler offroad tires measuring
37x12.50R17. Well cared for H1 Hummers are becoming increasingly
harder to find in good quality condition like this one.
This Hummer H1 has been wonderfully cared for by the former owner
who purchased this Hummer in August 2014 just 4 months after a new,
zero-timed odometer was professionally replaced by a Hummer dealer
located in New Jersey. It had 45,438 miles on the original odometer
at time of replacement, with 12,464 miles showing at the time of
this advertisement. This owner was very meticulous with his care
and recommended servicing to include proper oil changes, 12K
servicing, new power steering pump, coolant fluid flush with new
thermostat, and even a full transmission overhaul in February 2020
at 9,375 miles.
Upon arrival to the St. Louis Car Museum, it was freshly serviced
by our specialized 4x4 Hummer certified mechanic to include a
4-brand new Black Rhino wheels that were mounted & balanced, a full
12K Recommended Maintenance service which includes fluid
replacement for the engine, transmission, differentials, & transfer
case; oil filter, transmission filter, fuel filter, & engine air
filter replacement; chassis lubrication service; in addition to the
replacement of air conditioning compressor & dryer; CTIS extension
kit; 2 new window switches; battery storage disconnect with charger
leads; and fresh key fob battery. With combined mileage readings,
this truck now has approximately 57,902 total miles and comes with
available past service records, owner's manuals, and other
operating information. Please feel free to call with additional
questions or to schedule a chance to review it in person. Thanks
for looking!
