Vehicle Description
Cruisin Classics is proud to present to you today this simply
awesome 1969 Ford Mustang Grande! The Grande was a new "luxury"
model for the Mustang in 1969 - featuring a soft ride, 55 lbs. of
extra sound-deadening material, and a deluxe interior with
simulated woodgrain. This particular Grande underwent a rotisserie
restoration back around 2008 and a frame-on restoration last year.
It comes to us today dressed in a beautiful, slick coat of Acapulco
Blue paint (the original color was Pastel Grey) with a flawless
black vinyl top. The front end has a great look with quad
headlights inside and outside of the grill opening, a black
eggcrate grill with a running pony over tri-bars logo on the
drivers side, gleaming chrome trim around the grill and on the
front bumper, a black chin spoiler, and an aggressive bulged and
pointed hood. Moving around to the side you'll see a lot of
brightwork to accent the straight blue body like wheel lip molding,
chrome rocker accent molding, bright door handles, window trim, and
Mustang 351 fender badges. The side panels changed from concave to
convex in 1969 and the rear quarter ornaments changed to a mixture
of body-color and chrome - and these are in very good condition.
Body-color side mirrors grace both sides for a sporty look. At the
rear of the car are 3 individual tail lights on each side with
bright trim, a nice running pony gas cap, reverse lights with
chrome bezels on the lower valence, and chrome exhaust tips. This
whole stunning package looks great sitting on gleaming Magnum 500
wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A's. Under the hood is a
clean, painted, and organized bay that is home to a 351ci Windsor
V-8 (NOM). The Ford Blue block is topped with cast heads, chrome
"Ford Racing" valve covers, an aluminum intake, a Holley 650
4-barrel carburetor (originally a 2-bbl car), and a chrome air
cleaner with "call-out" sticker. It doesn't end there though, other
engine bay highlights include Pertronix electronic ignition, shock
tower supports, power steering, dual reservoir manual brakes
(drums), Headman headers, working Ford air conditioning, and newer
hoses, belts, and wires. The 351 V-8 is mated to an FMX automatic
3-speed transmission with a 9" Ford rear axle housing a 3:0
positraction gear (originally an open rear end). The undercarriage
is exceptionally clean and a quick look reveals newer brake lines
and gas tank as well as Cherry Bomb mufflers. Open the drivers'
door to reveal an OEM-style black interior with woodgrain accents.
The door panels are a mixture of vinyl, woodgrain, and carpet with
armrests, speakers, pony logo, and drivers door mirror control. The
black bucket Grande seats are vinyl with cloth inserts and
woodgrain buttons. The seats have obviously been recovered and are
in excellent condition. Between the seats is a center console with
armrest, storage box, aftermarket cup holder, woodgrain insert,
shifter, and an ashtray. Woodgrain continues up the center of the
dash behind the climate controls and the AM/FM push-button radio
(inop.). The climate controls crank out hot heat and cold AC with a
nice strong fan. Ahead of the driver is a 3-spoke OEM-style wood
steering wheel and a woodgrain gauge cluster bezel. There are
working factory gauges for alt, speedometer, fuel, temp, and oil
press as well as working 2-speed wipers. Ahead of the passenger is
a large woodgrain panel with a clock (inop.) at its center and a
glovebox underneath. Mounted under the glovebox is a Clarion
AM/FM/CD stereo with remote that plays your favorite tunes through
speakers in the doors and 6X9's on the rear package tray. Overhead
are a tight black vinyl headliner, working dome light, and shoulder
safety restraints, while underfoot is nice black carpet. Back in
the trunk you'll find a freshly installed seal, a covered spare
with jack, rubber floor mats, and a couple OEM parts that were
replaced - both rear interior side panels and the passenger side
woodgrain dash section. Also in the trunk is a folder with a deluxe
Marti report, some restoration photos, and a lot of receipts. 69
Mustangs in this condition are getting harder and harder to find
these days - let alone those with the Grande package and working
AC! This pony really checks a lot of boxes - great looking paint,
popular color combo, power steering, AC, nice interior, strong 351
Windsor, cool wheels tires, clean undercarriage, and a Marti
report! Don't procrastinate, this Mustang is bound to find a new
home quickly!
