Vehicle Description
Initially, the creation of the Plymouth Fury in 1956 was to
demonstrate the excellent abilities of the Plymouth division and to
produce an automobile that was not only stunning, but one that
would gather crowds. The Fury model was very popular with police
forces as the car had top performance and great reliability.Fast
forward to 1965, and the Plymouth company introduced the Sport Fury
with a luxury package which had a larger engine, performance
upgrades, and a transmission that could handle extra torque. This
was the only year that it was offered. The 65 model had aesthetic
changes as well with horizontal grille bars and taillights that
were rearranged. For the 1965 year of production only 38,348
hardtop coupes were produced, thus making this Plymouth Fury a rare
car and one that is very desirable. The models for the 1965 Fury
were the I, II, and III Sport Fury trims, with the Sport Fury being
the top of the line. It came with interior amenities and several V8
engine options. This is an excellent 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury
hardtop coupe that stands tall and exhibits beautifully. The
all-original sheet metal body is solid and straight. This car was
repainted in the original gold color that is rare. All chrome and
trim are in great condition. The bucket seat console interior is
black, and the seats have gold inserts that complement the exterior
beautifully. The dash was redone, and the door panels are probably
original. Everything in the interior is in above average condition.
The engine is the original 426 CID Max Wedge and is paired with the
727 automatic Torqueflite transmission. The engine starts up right
away and the car runs, drives, and shifts with ease. This Sport
Fury is loaded with options such as power brakes, power steering,
power windows, tilt wheel, clock, heater, factory AM/FM radio,
custom exhaust, and a limited slip rear-end. The brakes have just
be completely redone including new brake shoes, new brake lines,
new drums, all brake components are new. Underneath, the car is
outstanding and presents very well. It looks like someone took time
and gave careful attention to detailing the undercarriage, so it is
very clean! This great 1965 Plymouth Sort Fury is in Wyoming. It is
available for viewing by appointment only for serious buyers.
