Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery of Indy is pleased to present this 1956 Chrysler
New Yorker St. Regis for your consideration. This is a special car,
with 6686 being built in 1956. This is a car built for the person
that was on their way up in 1956. Under the hood is the 354
FirePower Hemi, backed by a smooth shifting automatic transmission.
With the contrasting color combination of Raven Black on the roof,
Regimental Red, and Cloud White covering the rest of the body
panels, this New Yorker gets your attention. This classic shows all
the style and grace of the 50's, the decade that was booming and
getting ready to jump into the future. The spacious interior was
perfect for Saturday nights at the drive-in. If you're looking for
the car that brings back the simpler times of life, this is the
beauty for you. Drive this one out of our showroom or have us
assist with shipping it to you anywhere in the United States! Don't
hesitate to give us a call with any questions or for more
information.
Chrysler christened the 1956 model year's design "PowerStyle," a
product of Chrysler designer Virgil Exner. The New Yorker gained a
new mesh grille, leather seats, pushbutton TorqueFlite selector,
and a 354 cubic inch Hemi V8 with 280 hp (209 kW). A four-door
pillarless hardtop made its debut, and the "DeLuxe" nameplate was
dropped from the New Yorker for 1956.
