Vehicle Description
The most cost-effective way to get involved in the California Mille
Rally! This 1954 Ford Customline Tudor Sedan was built under
previous ownership in the style of Piero Taruffi's 1954 La Carrera
Panamerican rally racer and has run multiple vintage rally events
including seven California Mille tours. The car is finished in
white over blue vinyl and powered by a 223ci inline-six mated to a
three-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes
an Offenhauser tri-power intake manifold, triple Holley
carburetors, a Fenton split exhaust manifold, and custom dual
exhaust pipes with a crossover and converted to a 12-volt
electrical system. The car was refinished in Wimbledon White under
previous ownership and features graphics in the style of the La
Carrera Panamericana rally racer driven by F1 champion and 1950 La
Carrera Panamericana winner Piero Taruffi in the 1954 event. This
Customline runs outstanding, is an absolute head turner and just
coming off a 1000 mile road trip is dead reliable. The smiles per
mile in this Ford are hard to beat.
