Our 1976 Cadillac Calais Coupe survives with the original owners
since their purchase new from Coral Cadillac based in Pompano
Beach, FL on July 6th, 1976. It was special-ordered to their exact
specifications and paid for in full upon delivery, along with
rust-proofing protection. It was always garage kept and serviced as
needed. Its original numbers matching 500ci V8 engine and automatic
transmission remain in excellent running condition. In September
2023, it received a comprehensive servicing to include fresh engine
oil with filter, new air filter, AC Delco spark plugs, plug wires,
distributor cap & rotor, full carburetor gasket kit, re-cored
radiator, A/C system service, new brake master cylinder, drive
belts, and new Vogue Classic whitewall tires. It runs and drives
with perfect ease, ready to enjoy immediately!
This model year marked the last of several styles, which included
the Eldorado Convertible, Calais Hardtop Coupe and Calais Sedan.
These now legendary automobiles prove to be excellent collector
investments, not to mention superb touring cars on the open road.
Additionally, Cadillac would retire their massive 8.2L 500 cubic
inch V8 powerplant, and in the years that followed, Cadillacs
continued to diminish in overall size to better suit the falling
displacement of their engines. This is without question the last
great incarnation of an outstanding road car! This particular
Calais Coupe represents one of only 4,500 units ever produced,
accounting for just 1.5% of cars built for 1976!
Vehicles like this represent the height of luxurious and stylish
road-going accommodations from American carmakers in 1976. An age
that has all but passed us by, making these, last of the great
Cadillacs, highly sought after and quite valuable on the collector
market, especially among international buyers! This Calais Coupe
will come with all original books/manuals, original window sticker,
original order & delivery paperwork, title copies, and all
available service records.
This rare and exceptionally original Cadillac will make for an
excellent addition to any collection! The savvy collector should
not miss this opportunity! All cars are advertised locally and
nationally. St. Louis Car Museum reserves the right to end any
listing early upon receipt of deposit. Please do not hesitate to
call us with questions or to discuss securing a vehicle.
