Vehicle Description
The Umbrella on wheels as it was often referred to was not fast by
any stretch of the imagination but was very reliable and economical
both to drive and maintain. Furtthermore, this car was a staple of
the French from 1948 through 1990, over forty years. They were
known for there very soft suspension with the claim to fame of
carrying a dozen eggs across a freshly plowed field with out any
eggs breaking. I guess, you have to start somewhere. It has a
history much like the VW Beetle of Germany. Both were meant to be
affordable and easy to maintain. Both cars saw a Million units
their lifetime. This particular absolute stunning example is one of
the nicest 2CV's I have ever seen let alone had in the shop. It was
restored in France and imported several years ago traveling less
than 800 miles since the restoration. This was a no expense, body
off restored Citroen with everything getting touched. The paint is
excellent, the car starts perfectly, all the lights work, the car
idles nicely and goes down the road pretty much exactly how its
supposed to. This 2CV has no funky noises or smells and does not
rattle at all. All in all a very comfortable car to drive with no
needs whatsoever. If you want a concourse quality restoration and
something different than your neighbor without breaking the bank
then this car needs a second look for sure.
