With what appears to be less than 2,000 miles since the original restoration, this absolute head turner of a 1969 Camaro SS was restored in original style, but features subtle upgrades where they count. The original body was stripped down completely in the summer of 2005, rust removed and previously repaired body work straightened out. The body was placed on a rotisserie where every inch of the car was examined and prepped. Approximately 62 hours of labor went into the preparation of the body alone. The car was then painted in Deltron code 57, the correct Fathom Green to match the original color of the car. The bottom of the car was also sanded and painted, to keep it as clean and show car ready as possible. The Hockey Puck Stripes were added underneath the final few layers of clearcoat to create as smooth of a finish as possible. The dog dish style wheels were painted to a matching green and are currently wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Under the hood sits a believed to be numbers matching 396ci V8, which has been rebuilt and is believed to be bored out and with a larger cam installed. Most recently, the engine was gone through by a Camaro expert, where a new date code correct Quadrajet carburetor, correct intake manifold and valve covers were installed, Hi Performance fuel pump returned to the original location, and reproduction shocks and new coilovers were installed among many other smaller items. The attention to detail doesn’t stop there with even a numbers matching new alternator, brake system and distributor were all added for correctness. A written note is included in the large binder of documents will all date codes. Inside, the interior was completely gone through as well as matches to how the original green vinyl interior would have looked, with a few additions including the Hurst shifter. With so much attention to detail and a beautiful restoration, there is no denying the collectibility of this Camaro.
