This 1972 Ford F100 is a 4WD Short Box Pickup that spent its life
in California. This is a super cool and clean truck that we just
don't come across very often. It is just an awesome truck! This is
an original Short-bed Pick from the factory and an original 4 X 4
from the factory. It is a cool combination of original exterior
with patina, a nice interior, and excellent mechanics. The body on
this truck excellent and all steel. The Sequoia Brown Metallic
paint appears to be all original and obviously the paint is wearing
off in spots for that cool patina look. It has the original chrome
and trim that is still nice. We found no evidence of rust or rust
repair anywhere on this truck. The underside is extra clean and
appears to be all original as well. Another note is that the saddle
tanks have been removed on this truck so there is only the Factory
Fuel Tank behind the seat.
The interior is excellent! The bench seat was reupholstered and a
new rubber floor mat was added recently as well. It also received a
new steering wheel and headliner. The door panels were repainted to
finish it off and the rest appears to be original and really nice
shape. The headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals
are all working. The gauges all work and the heat and windshield
wipers work. The horn is not working.
Mechanically this truck is just great!! It starts easy and runs and
drives wonderful. This truck originally came with a 360 V8, but
according to the previous owner he swapped the engine to a 390 V8
that he had rebuilt. This engine runs strong and smooth with no
issues or red flags that we found. It has a new Carb with an
electric choke, fresh tune-up, a new starter and alternator were
added when the engine was put in. It also had a new water pump, new
aluminum radiator, new belts and hoses. This was all done within
the last 3-4 years and the engine has under 10,000 miles on it. The
transmission is the np435 4 Speed Manual that shifts nice with a
good clutch. It is mated to a Dana 18 Transfer Case that has a PTO
that used to run a winch (winch was removed). The 4WD works like it
should. It has a Ford 9" rear end with 3.50 gears and a factory
limited slip. The front axle is a Dana 44 with 3.50 gears. This
truck does have power steering and power brakes. It has a 3" Rancho
lift installed and it received new shocks and bushings at that
time. This is all sitting on a cool set of Ford Rallye Wheels with
like new 33" Firestone Destination MT tires!! Such a cool truck you
just don't see for sale anymore.
