spared no detail, as every aspect, from the motor to the
transmission and final drive, has been meticulously refurbished.
All bearings, pistons, valves, springs, slingers, and seals have
been replaced, ensuring optimal performance. The bike features
single cross wheels with new spokes, bearings, tires, and tubes,
all expertly laced, trued, and balanced. The swing arms have been
fitted with new bearings and seals, while the wiring harnesses and
switches have been completely replaced. Tapered steering head
bearings, rebuilt Bing Carbs with new jets and gaskets, and rebuilt
shocks with polished aluminum and replaced cartridges are just a
few of the many enhancements that have been made. Additional
upgrades include Hella bar end signals, new handlebars, headlight

This particular 1955 R50 motorcycle holds the distinction of being
the 464th of the new production twin, pre/2 R50 BMW motorcycles
manufactured. That year saw the introduction of several
groundbreaking innovations, including the transition from a
telescoping liquid damper front fork to a Swing arm braced front
end with a spring/shock absorber combination. A similar
modification was made to the rear suspension, replacing the
plunger-type system with a spring/shock combination. Numerous other
changes, both cosmetic and functional, were implemented during this
period, with some features carried over and further refined at a
later date.
