Pontiac Firebird Formula WS6. The Firebird was produced from
1967-2002. General Motors hit the ground running to compete with
the success of the Ford Mustang By introducing their own pony cars
the Chevrolet Camaro and its cousin the Firebird. This fourth
generation Firebird Formula was produced from 1993-2002. Major
improvements in this generation were dual airbags, rack and pinion
steering, 16 -inch wheels, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, and
composite body panels. The return of the functional dual inlet "Ram
Air" hoods returned in 1996 on WS6 Firebirds and Trans Am models.
This 1996 Pontiac Firebird Formula WS6 is painted in bright red a
dark gray cloth interior. The factory five-spoke alloy wheels add
to the sporty looks of this aerodynamic beauty. Under the hood is a
350 CID LT1 V-8 attached to a manual six-speed transmission. With
the WS6 package horse-power increases from 285hp to 310hp. Comfort
features include power steering, power brakes, AM/FM/cd radio,
cruise control, power windows, power locks, anti-lock brakes,
keyless entry, power mirrors and an anti-theft security system.
