For Sale: 1968 Chevrolet Camaro in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

This is a drop dead gorgeous Camaro! The colors and stance are amazing, the interiors is immaculate. Under the hood packs quite a punch!

EXTERIOR: It was professionally restored with new metal, no rust! The body looks amazing, It's straight and fits nice. It has spoilers and a metal cowl hood, no vinyl top. Gorgeous colors! It's a GM Merlot red metallic with pearl white stripes. The paint looks like a wet piece of candy. All the trim was replaced: bumpers, grill, emblems, stainless moldings, door handles, taillights and even has a locking Chevrolet gas cap. The glass has been tinted; windshield was replaced. Weatherstrips were replaced. New tires and wheels and boy do they give the car a tough look! It has a set of chrome 15 inch Cragars, they sparkle like jewelry and are wrapped in BFG tires, extra, extra wide in back.

INTERIOR: I'm sitting in a pretty much pristine interior. The Procar seats feel great and they're going to really hold you in place when you're carving up the curves. The back seat is upholstered to match the front. Everything looks replaced: dash pad, door panels, headliner, visors and even the bits and pieces like the mirror, vents, console, shifter etc. It has some custom features like billet handles and window cranks, center armrest with cup holder and custom made floor mats. Retro stereo with Bluetooth and 6x9 speakers in back.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The Blueprint crate motor is a real powerhouse. It's a small block 396 making 503 hp and 509 lbs of torque. Dyno sheets are included. Blueprint makes their own blocks and aluminum heads, on top is a powder coated Edelbrock intake, dual feed Holley carb and HEI ignition. It also has headers and powder coated valve covers. The front of the engine has powder coated billet brackets, pulleys, a/c compressor, alternator, and a serpentine belt system. It has 605 power steering and power brakes. It always runs cool with an aluminum radiator and electric fan. Everything is neatly installed and clean. The metal surfaces are painted neatly.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's a really nice looking compartment. Underneath the lid and the jamb are as slick as the car. The weatherstrip and the mat were replaced. Inside is all clean metal that's been spatter painted and clear coated for durability.

UNDERSIDE: The front end looks like it was completely rebuilt, it has an upgraded swaybar and coilover adjustable gas shocks. In back it's upgraded with a four link system, tubular control arms, panhard bar and coilover adjustable gas shocks. The dual exhaust is only a few weeks old. Great sounding series 10 Flowmaster mufflers. Disc brakes in front and drum in back, the brake lines and e-brake cables have been replaced. Looking up at the motor it's spotless, it has a high torque starter. It's a performance built Turbo 350 automatic with the reverse manual valve body. In back is a 10 bolt rear end with 3.73 gears. The floors, frame rails, rockers and braces all appear to be really clean rust free metal.

SERVICE: We inspected the car and hooked up the choke and adjusted it properly, tighten the fuel lines, replaced the horn, tightened the hoses on the power brakes, installed missing bolts on the front spoiler and charged the a/c.

The closer I looked, the more I liked! It checks all the boxes: hot looking, high quality, sounds great and fast!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum.
