Description:
This 1979 Lincoln Continental Town Coupe was acquired by the
current owner in 2010 and received a fuel-injected 460 V8, an
aftermarket cooling system, a rear air suspension, a 320-amp
alternator, and front, side, and rear-view cameras along with a
tire pressure monitoring system, modified power-adjustable front
seats, and a 9? touch-screen infotainment system. Finished in
maroon over color-coordinated leather, the car is also equipped
with a vinyl Landau roof, 15? turbine-style wheels, four-wheel disc
brakes, air conditioning, cruise control, and a tilt steering
wheel.
Interior:
The seating surfaces are upholstered in replacement maroon leather.
The front seats have been relocated further to the rear and feature
six-way power adjusters along with power recline mechanisms. The
rear side armrests were removed and are included in the sale.
Equipment includes air conditioning, an infotainment system with a
9? screen, power windows and locks, and multiple screens for the
exterior cameras. The steering wheel holds cruise control buttons
and frames a sweeping 85-mph speedometer. The mechanical odometer
shows 44k miles. Auxiliary gauges are located below the dash along
with various owner-added switches with labels.
Exterior:
The body is finished in maroon with a color-coordinated Landau top,
and paintwork was performed near the rear bumpers as well as on the
front bumper filler and the headlight doors, the latter of which
were converted to electric operation. Front, side, and rear cameras
were added and a new hood ornament was installed in 2021.
Drivetrain:
The factory 400ci V8 was replaced by a crate 460ci V8 equipped with
a Holley Sniper fuel injection system. A serpentine belt drive is
fitted along with a 320-amp alternator, a Griffin radiator, an
electric water boost pump, and dual electric cooling fans. Power is
sent to the rear wheels via a C6 three-speed automatic
transmission. Turbine-style 15? alloy wheels are mounted with
225/75 Hankook Kinergy ST tires, and an aftermarket tire pressure
monitoring system has been installed. Power-assisted four-wheel
disc brakes are fitted along with power steering, rear air shocks,
and replacement softer-than-stock coil springs. The front
suspension was overhauled in 2023, and two additional sets of
springs are included in the sale.
