Vehicle Description
This 1958 Chevrolet Impala Convertible is a beautifully restored
first-year Impala Convertible with southern history. While the
American auto industry faced major challenges heading into 1958,
including an impending economic downturn and labor issues, the
American Big Three continued to release some of its most iconic
designs of all time. One of those groundbreaking designs that has
stood the test of time was the Chevrolet Impala, which was
originally released as a top trim level option package for
Chevrolet's top-of-the-line Bel Air. From its entry-level Del Ray
to its brand-new top-of-the-line Impala, Chevrolet completely
redesigned its entire full-size passenger car line in 1958. Touted
by Chevrolet as "lower, wider, [and] longer," the new-look '58
Chevys were a major step forward for the GM marque's design
philosophy and modernized the appearances of its most popular
automobiles. From nearly every angle, the 1958 Chevrolets surely
looked like they were brand new cars! Looking at the front of the
'58 Chevys, a new-look grille and bumper design provided a more
modern look. Further adding to the updated front end styling was
perhaps the most noticeable with the addition of a new
quad-headlight design that was brought on by a change in government
regulation that now allowed automakers to have such a design. The
side profile, especially on the Impala, also saw major updates
including 4 new Chevrons that were added to the front fenders as
well as additional chrome trim and Impala-identifying marks
signifying the presence of a top-trim level Impala. The other major
revision to the '58 Impala occurred to rear quarter panels and
taillight design which consisted of simulated air scoops as well as
3 "missile" style taillights framed by the swooping lines of the
gullwing-like rear quarters, that together solidified the '58
Impala as one of the most iconic American-made automobiles of all
time. The interiors on the 1958 Chevy Impala were also notably
well-appointed and were considered to be the plushest and most
luxurious Chevrolets ever produced. This particular '58 Impala
Convertible comes to us from the collection of an overseas
collector who purchased this car from Texas-based collector.
Powering this '58 Impala is a 348 Cubic Inch V8 engine with

even better ride cruising down the road. This 1958 Impala also

iconic automobile. The interior of this '58 Impala Convertible is
absolutely stunning! The front and rear bench seats have been
reupholstered in Gold Vinyl with Gold, Beige, and Copper tri-color

gold carpeting, gold painted dash with engine turned trim inserts,
and two-tone steering wheel are all in wonderful condition and
appear to be in their stock configuration. The engine turned
trimmed instrument cluster is equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer,
