Barrett Jackson Auto Auction Description:

Known as, “Gold Rush” -This awesome 1965 Plymouth Barracuda Custom was built to pound the pavement while looking good doing it. The first generation Barracuda was produced from 1964 through 1966. As the VIN number indicates it was originally built in Detroit, MI as a Barracuda with an 8-cylinder engine. This seldom-seen Mopar Muscle Car was the product of a full restoration that was completed in 2015. Since completion it’s been driven sparingly to car shows and cruise-ins. The body retains all its original sheet metal with exception of the custom hood. The straight bodylines highlight the eye-catching factory body design. The hood, doors and trunk lid close nicely. During the refurbishment the decision was made to refinish the body in Gold which dresses it well. The paint was recently detailed to a show quality shine. The aggressive hood scoop was painted black which looks great. It retains its entire original factory stamped glass with exception of the front windshield which was replaced new. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced new such as the NOS top trim, wipers, antenna, driver’s side mirror, grill, front bumper, wheel trim, rocker trim, door handles, quarter trim, tail lights, rear bumper and emblems. It was outfitted with modern headlights for better visibility. It has raked stance on 15” steel wheels that were painted gold and black with chrome trim rings. The black center piece matches the hood scoop. The wheels are wrapped with B.F. Goodrich Radial TA tires that are 205-60-15 on the front and 275-60-15 on the rear. The interior was completely restored in black with painted gold trim. The front bucket seats and rear folding seat upholstery is decorated with a patterned insert which adds character. Everything in the interior has been restored or replaced such as the headliner, dome lights, rear view mirror, steering wheel, door panels and hardware, console with shifter and carpeting. Some of the interior custom features include a Pro Tach mounted to the steering column, Summit Racing gauge cluster mounted under the dash, fuel pump switch, safety push button start and carpeted floor mats. The clean trunk compartment was painted and outfitted with carpeting, RCI stainless fuel tank with braided lines and fire extinguisher. A black factory style gas cap was placed in the original location for appearance purposes only. The highly detailed engine compartment has many new parts throughout. The backside of the hood and engine bay was painted. The car is powered by a built 340 stroked V8 engine that runs excellent. No expense was spared building this engine which has an estimated 500hp. The engine was dressed with X-heads, Mopar Performance valve covers with K&N breathers and K&N Air Cleaner. Some other upgrades include a Summit Racing fuel pressure gauge, MSD electronic ignition system and Powermaster alternator. The engine is cooled by a new radiator and the battery has a cut off knob for storage. The engine breathes through TTI ceramic coated long tube headers and 3” Flowmaster exhaust system that exits behind the rear tires. The engine is coupled to a rebuilt 904 3-speed automatic transmission and 8 ¾ POST rear end with 3.91 gears. The detailed undercarriage was painted and undercoated for durability. Everything was restored or replaced such as the steering, suspension and braking components. It’s equipped with Super Stock Springs. This car was recently serviced and detailed which is documented with an invoice that’s included. From the MS CLASSIC CARS Collection.
