Vehicle Description
The 1972 Chevrolet Corvette, often referred to as the C3 Corvette,
was part of the third generation of Corvettes produced by
Chevrolet. This Corvette is a Top Flight and Bloomington Gold award
winner along with several other well-known and coveted awards.
Corvette C3 design and styling was first introduced in 1968 with
its distinctive long hood and removable T-top roof panels. It
features a shark-like front end and a rear with chrome bumpers. The
1972 model year saw the introduction of a new egg-crate grille
design.
Under the hood of this impressive Vette is the high-performance
option LT-1, which featured a 350 cubic inch V8 with a higher
compression ratio, solid lifters, and produced 255 horsepower. This
engine was and still is known for its performance. Chevrolet
referred to the engine as "Famous LT1".
Equipped with the 4-speed manual transmission that gave buyers a
more engaging driving experience and better control over the
engine's power band. Handling is what a true Corvette is all about
with the independent rear suspension, four-wheel disc brakes and 15
x 8 rally wheels.
The interior of the 1972 Vette featured a driver-oriented cockpit
design that included a center console with gauges and controls,
bucket seats, and a sporty steering wheel. This Corvette has
leather seating, factory gauge cluster along with power windows,
tilt & telescopic steering column, and factory air
conditioning.
Collectability is a word often associated with the Corvette and
they are considered a desirable classic car today, particularly in
its more powerful LT-1 configuration. Collectors often seek
well-preserved examples like this one with the original engine and
factory options.
The Corvette styling and sports car DNA make it a beloved classic
among enthusiasts of all ages.
