This gorgeous 1964 Chevrolet Corvette 327/365 Convertible Custom was beautifully restored with many upgrades. As the original VIN number and trim tag indicate this car was built in St. Louis, MO on September 9th, 1963. It’s considered an early built 64 model. A total of 22,229 Corvettes were produced in 1964 of which 13,925 were convertibles. This car is one of only 2,785 total Corvettes that were painted Satin Silver. This car is also one of only 7,171 total Corvettes with the “L76” 327/365hp engine. This car was found in very good original condition by a gentleman who lives in Johnson, RI. His vision was to create his own masterpiece with some discreet cosmetic and mechanical upgrades. He wanted to keep the l factory appearance and original color combination along with the original matching-numbers engine. The car was the product of a documented body off restoration that was completed in 2016. Many NOS parts and trim pieces were used during the build. Since completion the car has been treated with the best of care and only driven to car shows such as the well-known “Corvettes by the Sea” where it earned “Best of C2 Class” in 2017. The award is not included for sentimental reasons. The exterior of this Corvette is simply stunning to say the least. The body is very straight and the gap lines are excellent. The car was refinished in its original color of Satin Silver which looks amazing. The show quality paint was recently detailed to a high level. The front hood bulge was painted black which looks sharp. It was outfitted with a new black soft convertible top which is easy to operate. The front windshield was replaced new and the entire original factory stamped side glass is in very good condition. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced such as the glass trim, wipers, grill, front bumper, door handles, rear bumper and emblems. The car sits on new 15” Turbine style bolt-on wheels with spinner center caps. The wheels are wrapped with new Diamond Back 215-70-15 redline tires that were added in September of 2023. The attention to details continues with the fresh interior which was refinished in its original color of black. Everything in the interior was restored or replaced such as the rear view mirror, dash, gauges, steering column, steering wheel, door sills, door panels, center console, pedals and carpeting. The bucket seats were upholstered in premium leather for extra comfortability. Some additional interior features include power windows, Vintage Air Conditioning, Custom Auto Sound System with Alpine speakers and cup holders. The rear cargo area behind the seats was covered with new carpeting. The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout with many new parts. The car is powered by its original matching-numbers “L76” 327/365hp V8 engine. The engine as completely rebuilt and runs excellent. The engine is dressed with polished valve covers and chrome accessories. The engine is cooled by new radiator. The engine breathes through factory manifolds and side pipes with correct style exhaust. The engine is coupled to a Borg Warner T5 5-speed manual transmission that was rebuilt and shifts smoothly. The power is transferred to the rebuilt POSI rear end with 3.55 gears. The undercarriage is also highly detailed and the frame was painted black. It’s equipped with power steering and power 4-wheel disc brakes.
