1967 Pontiac Firebird 400 - Replacement 350ci V8 - 4 Speed Manual
Transmission - 83k Miles Shown - Bronze Exterior - Black Vinyl Top
- Tan Interior - Maintenance Records Featured here is a very
striking 1967 Pontiac Firebird 400 painted Coronado Gold with a
black vinyl top. The Coronado Gold hue was a paint option that was
not offered until late in the spring of the 1967 model year. This
rather rare paint option combined with the aggressive styling of
the early Firebirds and topped with a black vinyl roof makes for a
commanding presence on the Firebird featured here. The older
refinish has a few minor blemishes throughout but the finish
presents with a nice luster. The bumper chrome is bright, and the
stainless trim has been polished to a deep shine. The factory 400
hood features a hood-mounted tachometer allowing the driver to keep
their eyes on the road while monitoring the crucial shift points as
you row through the gears. A set of chrome GM Super Stock chrome
wheels with black PMD center cap provide the finishing touch to
this Firebird's eye-catching presentation. Inside this Pontiac
features the optional deluxe interior with molded interior door
panels, wood trim, and a dash-mounted grab bar. The gold upholstery
is factory original showing only some light wear with only a slight
seam pull on the driver's seat. A factory console sits between
bucket seats framing a Hurst floor shifter and the carpet and dash
pad have been replaced. This car left the factory with air
conditioning, which is currently inoperable, and an AM radio that
is still in place with the rear speaker option. Under the hood, the
factory 400cid V8 has been replaced with a high-revving small block
Chevrolet 350 cid. This motor has been upgraded with a Holley
double pumper 4bbl carburetor with an electric choke, an aluminum
intake, GM HEI distributor, underdrive pulleys with serpentine
belt, and tubular exhaust headers. The engine compartment is
lightly detailed and features a chrome Edelbrock open-element air
cleaner and fabricated aluminum valve covers. Power is transferred
through a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission to the 10-bolt rear
differential with dual factory control arms. Underneath this
Firebird there has been considerable attention given to the
chassis, with new front control arm bushings, shocks, brake master
cylinder, brake vacuum booster, all new brake and fuel lines, and a
new fuel tank. Options include power steering and power-assisted
drum brakes. The engine rumbles deeply through a full dual exhaust
with turbo mufflers. The floorboards and subframe are clean and
have been detailed. The gold-on-gold color combination with the
black top is really eye-catching and sure to turn heads as you
cruise the streets in this classic Firebird. Please call if
