1964 Studebaker Daytona - One Owner - All Documentation Since New -

Speed Manual Transmission Garage Kept Motors is very excited to
feature the following 1964 Studebaker Daytona. The 1964 Daytona is
a rare car indeed and has slipped under the radar for many
collectors. These determined little compact cars were the
youth-oriented performance option from Studebaker and were first
introduced in 1959. These cars were comparable to the Ford Mustang
in the marketplace but when equipped with a V8 the Daytona's
performance was right on par with the GTO, a midsized car with a
large V8. Needless to say, many unsuspecting streetlight racers saw
the taillights of these nimble unassuming cars making these
Studebakers literally the ultimate sleeper especially when equipped
with the optional supercharger. With only 1,500 V8-equipped hardtop
cars produced these cars are also very collectible. This particular
car has only been driven 9796 miles and has been under the same
ownership since new and is in completely original condition. This
Studebaker is believed to be one of the finest original condition
cars of this make. The 59-year-old black paint has been well
maintained and as expected there are a few minor blemishes but
still the finish shines with a deep luster. Likewise, the bumper
chrome is well preserved with only some light patina and such is
the case of the related stainless and body trim which all glimmers
brightly. Inside the red interior, the original seat upholstery is
still rich in color with little if any wear on the cloth inserts.
The carpet has some light color fade, but the condition is truly
amazing. The dash with its large gauges features in one pod the
oil, temperature, and amperage and a 120 MPH speedometer in the
other. The surrounding dash chrome detail is bright and
mirror-like, no plastic here, all chromed metal. The white steering
wheel rim continues the theme of white control knobs that provide
highlights to the red interior, and honestly, this dashboard is a
work of art, built back when cars had a soul. The trunk space on
this car, much like the whole car, is a time capsule complete with
original Studebaker maintenance products. The original vinyl floor
covering and spare tire cover are present as well as the original
spare tire and related tire changing accessories. Under the hood
sits the 259cid V8 looking very close to the condition it left the
showroom in. Present are all the correct spring-style hose clamps,
and the factory decals and assembly paint markings. Power from this
little V8 is transferred to the rear differential through a
three-speed manual transmission that is column-shifted. The
underbody and chassis were lightly undercoated. It is doubtful the
underside of this car has ever seen anything but paved roads on
warm sunny days. The suspension is solid and tight as expected from
such a low-mileage car. The original ownership and history of this
car is well documented and included with the sale of this collector
condition car. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific
questions. Thank you for looking.
