This 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 convertible is powered by the
documented, original 400ci Rocket V8 engine that is branded with a
correct 442-specific casting number and a correct partial VIN
stamp. This car has been authenticated by GM Canada Vintage Vehicle
Services. The Rocket 400 is a super-efficient wedge-head design
that utilizes a standard stroke and under-square bore to create a
stout 350hp. Stomp the throttle and the car's big QUADRAJet
4-barrel carburetor mixes fuel from new stainless fuel lines with
air from the original air cleaner and shoves it into correct
cast-iron intake manifolds. Cooling is provided by reproduction GM
hoses that cycle water through a correct heavy-duty radiator.
Charging comes courtesy of new V-belts, which spin a fresh
Delcotron alternator and a factory-correct power steering pump
behind a standard six-blade mechanical fan. The exterior is
equipped with a bright chrome bumper that hangs below a black
stainless grille that centers a black-inlaid 442 emblem between
four clear T3 headlights and two clear parking lights. At the sides
of those headlights, slick stainless trim traces both the car's
fender lines and wheel openings, and behind those headlights a
moderately domed hood is topped by correct crimson stripes. At the
sides of the car, traditional chrome door handles perfectly
complement a spotless driver's-side mirror and large black-inlayed
442 fender emblems. This Cutlass is fully documented from its
factory Build Sheet all the way to its recent refreshening. From
