A bit of an odd ball but beautifully done and with the result being a lovely Morgan. And quite rare with only 386 of this model built.
From 1955 to 1968, Morgan built two parallel models of cars, the lower, lighter Ford powered 4/4 and the heavier, taller Triumph powered Plus 4. Although, mixed up in there was the 101 Plus 4 Supersports...one of which won its class at the 1962 24 Hours of LeMans beating the factory POrsche and Alfa teams. A sub model using the lower/lighter 4/4 body but with the potentially more potent Triumph 2138cc TR engine.
To a certain degree, this car is a rough duplicate of the factory built high performance cars. An excellent 4/4 chassis/body with new BRG paint, all new Camel interior, wire wheels, disc brakes, and a TR4 engine with a new pair of 40 DCOE Weber carbs. Mated to an all synchromesh TR4 four speed gearbox (far easier to drive than the pre war Moss gearbox as originally used by Morgan).
All work professionally done and looking 'factory.'
Has a new tonneau, decent original top and side curtains, classic banjo style steering wheel, mostly new chrome, and (of course), the horsepower of a faster Plus 4 in the lighter 4/4 body/chassis. A combination that certainly worked for Morgan at LeMans.
A new aluminum radiator, electric cooling fan, excellent wiring and electrics, all new gauges, correct matching horn and turn signals switches, louvered bonnet, and (of course) a new leather bonnet strap.
And sure, we can install a stereo, luggage rack, any option one might want. And with the all synchro transmission, really effortless to drive. (and with 45,000 authenticated, documented original miles since new)
