The 73 Stingray was the last year for the chrome bumper Vettes and
this one is a beauty! The C-3 is the third generation of the
Corvette and marks the second time the Corvette would carry the
Stingray name. The 1973 model year started Corvettes transformation
from muscle to touring sports car. "We gave it radials, a quieter
ride, guard beams and a nose job" was the headline in the 73
Chevrolet ads. And the redesigned body mounts and radial tires did
improve the ride, and interior sound levels were reduced by 40
percent.
This Stingray has been judged by the NCRS (National Corvette
Restorers Society) and scored at the 89th percentile making it a
second-tier car.
