History of the 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Heavy Chevy
To combat rising insurance premiums for the SS 454, GM released the
"Heavy Chevy" variant of the base sport coupe with some added
decals and upgraded suspension. GM only produced the Heavy Chevy in
71' and 72'
This "Heavy Chevy" has the proper striping and logs with a flawless
Red exterior paint. The interior and undercarriage looks just as
nice as the top after having a frame off restoration approximately
2,000 miles ago. This vehicle was originally born as a 402 big
block, however it currently has a 1970 LS5 big block built to
corvette 454 specs.
