The Chevrolet 454SS caused a ripple effect in the truck market that
would spawn some of the most memorable performance trucks from the
big-three - Chevy SSR, Ford Lightning, and Ram SRT-10. The 454SS
option package was available only on the short-bed 2WD 1500 model
and was built on the Silverado trim level. It incorporated the
454ci big block engine, beefier suspension, HD shocks, quicker
power steering ratio and power disc/drum brakes w/ABS on the rear.
This 454SS received a nice restoration and is a great example of
this big-block trend-setter. The beautiful Black re-spray
integrates SS454 logos, blacked out grille, fog lights and a front
air-dam. Factory 15" chrome wheels mount BFGoodrich Radial T/A
tires. The original burgundy cloth interior is in outstanding
condition. Upholstery, carpets, door cards and dash pad have been
well cared for. For comfort and convenience, the pick-up has A/C,
power tinted windows, power locks, tilt wheel, cruise and a factory
gauge package w/tach. There is good storage behind the seat and the
cab is equipped with a sliding rear window that opens to a 61/2'
bed equipped with a bed light. You can listen to your favorite
tunes on the factory AM/FM/Cassette stereo system. Horsepower is
furnished by what appears to be a bone stock 454ci big-block w/EFI.
These motors were factory rated at 230bhp-385lb/ft and this one
sounds very strong. A 3-speed Turbo-Hydramatic delivers power to
the stock differential with 3.73:1 gearing. If you have been
looking for a classic Chevy 1500 with big-block torque and muscle
car performance, come in and drive this one - you will not be
disappointed. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
