1981 Chrysler Imperial 2 Door Hardtop. Rare car, one of only 7,225
built for the 1981 MY. Built only from 1981-1983. This car came
from Colorado, so the body and undercarriage are absolutely
outstanding, see pictures. No rot noted anywhere. Original paint
car, no bondo. Original Day Star Blue paint has typical wear from
poor factory clear coat and age; The new owner can decide to leave
the patina or repaint. 318 V8 (non-original 1979 318 engine with
carburetor rather than troublesome fuel injection). Automatic. Tons
of new parts including: engine seal kit, Cloyes double roller
timing chain set (to replace risky old nylon gear), new oil pan,
rebuilt carb., new water pump, new fuel pump, new starter, etc. New
tires, brake pads, etc. Replaced exhaust from the cat back,
original cat is still intact. Sumptuous blue velour interior
screams of the late '70s-early '80s luxury era. Blue Snowflake
aluminum wheels. Dash has no cracks. Owners manual present. The
styling is a case of love it or hate it...be a bit different and
have something you are not likely to see at another car show.
Collectability and values of this generation of Imperials has been
rising and is likely to continue to do so.
