Vehicle Description
1965 Volkswagen Beetle
VIN 115274793
Finished in Pearl White with a Fawn interior with Tan corduroy
inserts on the front and rear seats with brown carpets. This Beetle
received a windows-out, bare metal restoration in the early 2000s.
The engine was completely rebuilt in the mid-1990s and was bored
out to 1776cc with a dual relief case, dual port heads, spin-on oil
filter pump, and electronic ignition. Francisco's Automotive Inc.
in Huntington Beach, California, recently adjusted the choke,
replaced the accelerator pump, and installed a new 34 PICT-3
carburetor in August 2023. European Collectibles reconditioned the
front end with new link and kingpins.
The 1965 Volkswagen Beetle featured significant changes from the
previous model year, the most obvious being larger windows all
around. The larger windshield was now slightly curved to reduce
glare. The sun visors could be swiveled to the side. The rear
window and side windows were also enlarged, providing greater
visibility. Windshield wipers were made longer to better sweep the
windshield, along with a more powerful wiper motor.
The white exterior of the Beetle is complemented with white wall
tires, chrome hubcaps on painted silver rims, chrome bumpers,
louvered rear engine lid, driver/passenger side mirrors, original
Sekurit glass, and a roof rack that perfectly matches the
personality of this Beetle.
The two-tone brown interior features brightwork, improved, twin
lever heater controls, a fuel gauge, brown carpet with tan floor
mats with the Wolfsburg logo, and an aftermarket PYRAMID AM/FM
stereo cassette radio. A full-sized spare tire and tool kit are
located in the front trunk.
The engine compartment of this Beetle reflects the care given to
this car throughout its lifetime. The air cleaner of its single
carburetor is chrome, as is the fan shroud. Power is directed to
the rear wheels through a manual four-speed transmission.
The sale of this classic 1965 Volkswagen Beetle, includes a clean
title, service records from 1993-2023, photographs documenting the
restoration, and an owner's manual. A great turn-key Beetle that is
ready to enjoy.
