RENAULT R16, RUST FREE ARIZONA CAR
UPDATE, I have gotten questions about how many R16 I will sell of the 5 I own. I decided to add one more for sale so there's the blue/silver one in this ad, the light blue parts car and I'm adding a dark green car, very sunbaked original paint, dented right front fender and the front of the rocker panel but it's a rust free Arizona car and it is an AC car. I added a couple of pictures of it also below.
I tried showing pictures of the car in the order I am listing them but all pictures got scrambled, sorry about that.
-This Renault R16 has been off the road for 35-45 years here in Arizona. The body is super dry and rust free.
I put a carburetor from another R16 on the engine and started the car a few months ago and it started and ran with no problem. The carburetor belongs to another R16 and does not go with this car. I'm sure I can help finding one if needed.
Except for that I have not done anything so the car is not a driving car but a rust free project.
The R16 were only imported in small numbers 1969-71 and they are almost impossible to find in the US.
Mechanically they are advanced with an all aluminum engine and transmission, front wheel drive, disc brakes up front and they were an early hatchback car, I think the first mass produced one.
It has been said that an R16 is almost as comfortable as a Citroen, at a fraction of the price!
