Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this
1969 Pontiac GTO aka the "Goat". This 2nd generation GTO is a
fitting example of a true 242 car, this GTO is authentic and after
the GTO was named Motor Trends car of the year in 1968, this was a
highly sought-after year. By 1968 the car was beginning to become
dated, so a new model with a fastback design was released, and the
public went car crazy. 1969 would bring what many believe to be the
most desirable GTO to come out of the Motor City. Undergoing a
rotisserie restoration in 2014, this car has had every component
touched and looked over. Originally done in Expresso Brown "61"
this GTO has been redone is Matador red and Cordova Black vinyl
top. The original 400CID V-8 (casting # 9790071) and 3-speed manual
transmission pushing power through the 3.31 geared PosiTrac rear
end remain intact. The Pontiac 400CID engine has also received some
upgrades like an 800CFM QuadraJet carburetor, PerTronix high
performance distributor, new polished valve covers and a complete
HRG exhaust system. Silver 14 Rally II wheels wear PMD center caps
as well as trim rings and are mounted with 225/70 B.F. Goodrich
Radial T/A tires. Power steering and power front disc brakes vastly
improve the driving experience, and with updated shocks at the
corners it handles like a dream as well. The cabin features front
bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl with
matching door panels, dash, headliner, and carpets. Additional
interior amenities include a Delco push-button AM radio, floor
mounter Hurst shifter, lap belts and cold blowing air conditioning.
The 3-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a fuel
gauge, and a clock. Auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil
pressure, and amperes are mounted beneath the dash and the classic
option of an 8k rpm tachometer is mounted on the hood. The
five-digit mechanical odometer shows 37k miles, although true
mileage is unknown. The tank sticker & an entire folder full of
documents & receipts will be included to the new owner. This '69
Goat is a real beauty and has a really sweet look to it, and about
the only thing that would make this 1969 GTO look any better would
be it siting in your driveway!
