HIGHLIGHTS: Gorgeous 2005 50th Anniversary Edition Ford
Thunderbird! Clean Carfax, gorgeous rare double Cashmere color
combination, perfect car to cruise in down the highway. Limited
run! #464 of 1500! 71k miles!
BODY OVERVIEW: The body is clean and straight, and is exactly what
you would expect from a car that has been cared for. Looking at
this car, one would probably guess the mileage was about half of
what it is. Dings and defects are at an extreme minimum.
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: Like the body, the paint is in excellent
condition showing minimal defects. This is impressive both for the
age and mileage! Although many Cashmere Thunderbirds can be found
advertised as a 50th Anniversary Edition, finding a true
Anniversary Edition with the painted grille is a rarity. Rarely do
these numbered cars seem to go up for sale. Taking a close look at
this one, it is easy to understand why-the people that have them
just won't let them go. The paint appears to be largely if not
completely original, and present very well.
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The interior condition is nothing
short of excellent condition, almost as it left the factory. The
Cashmere leather seats show very minimal creasing and no tears at
all. The factory radio has been removed in favor of a
professionally installed tasteful aftermarket unit and the dash is
free of any splits or cracks. This car is clean enough to stand
tall at a local car show with the doors open and top down!
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: The 3.9L V8 fires up and purrs like it just
left the factory. The dual overhead cam engine left the factory
with a modest 280hp. This is the perfect amount for this little
car, as it was never meant to be a high-horsepower street machine.
The other nice touch from Ford is the addition of a 5-speed
automatic, a nice addition for smooth cruising. The underneath is
as clean as one would expect for a low mileage modern classic.
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: The rare 50th Anniversary Edition,
the way it drives, honestly just point in a general direction and
you'll find something to love!
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: The only downside we can think
of is the fact that only 2 people can enjoy this car at a time.
Additionally, the removable hardtop can be tedious to remove.
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? Just a new home!
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? It's hard to believe that these
cars are creeping up on 20 years old. This is definitely a future
collectible. So this would fit in someone's collection given you
never see a true 50th Anniversary Thunderbird, or for the person
that just wants to cruise the open road the mileage isn't insanely
low to where you would feel guilty driving it.
