Vehicle Description
Custom built for NHL all-star Rick Nash with more than $330,000
worth of receipts. 700 miles on the build. 502 RamJet, 5-speed,
Baer brakes, air suspension, tube frame chassis, and much more. The
ultimate pro-touring Camaro!

We have detailed
receipts and build photos from Boot Hill Customs in Canada that
encompass the entire build of this spectacular 1968 Camaro.
Starting with a bare shell, it was completely rebuilt from the
ground up, including a custom chassis, and is easily the most
amazing F-body we've ever featured. The black paint has a hint of
metallic in it, so it seems to radiate energy even sitting still,
and if you look carefully you'll see factory-style 'hockey stick'
ghost stripes on the nose (how appropriate!). The hood was custom
fabricated in steel to add a little clearance for the RamJet 502
underneath and incorporates faux induction for just the right OEM
look. Out back there's a factory ducktail spoiler and a Z/28-style
front chin spoiler, as well as RS headlights with a billet grille
and electric actuators. Paint and bodywork are show quality
throughout-this is the finest black paint job we've ever seen, with
exacting gaps and mirror-like surfaces on the entire car. Original
stainless and chrome trim was polished and restored, then
reinstalled to give the car an OEM look, although nobody's going to
mistake this for a garden-variety Camaro. The list of modifications
is extensive, more than we have room for here, but it works so well
that the result is simply seamless.

The interior
still feels very much like a 1968 Camaro, although everything is
turned up to 11. Leather-wrapped bucket seats are far more
comfortable and supportive than the original vinyl chairs and the
rear bench was upholstered to match. The instrument panel is
factory-issue, but is now filled with Dakota Digital instruments
and there's a fabricated center console that holds the controls for
the Vintage Air A/C system, a touch-screen entertainment/navigation
system, and the trick RideTech air suspension system. That's real
carbon fiber used in the center stack and on the console, but it's
not over-done so the car feels very much the way GM intended. It
also includes a tilt steering column with custom billet wheel,
power windows, custom pedals, and a big custom knob on top of the
Tremec 5-speed manual gearbox. Even the door panels were subtly
re-sculpted to give it a slightly custom look that's really
cohesive. The trunk is fully finished with an enclosure for the
entertainment system and amplifiers, yet leaving some room for your
bags on a weekend trip or something like the Power
Tour.

Mechanically, this Camaro takes no
prisoners, starting with a fresh GM RamJet 502, which features fuel
injection and a towering 502 horsepower and 565 lb-ft. of torque.
It also features 4-bolt mains, aluminum heads, forged rotating
assembly, electronic ignition, and a full roller valvetrain. With
an electronic brain running the whole thing, it starts easily and
idles properly without any carburetor shenanigans and you'd better
believe it's wickedly fast. The massive big block looks awesome
under the hood with its custom aluminum intake with fabricated
intake ducting, as well as a lot of polished aluminum. A big
aluminum radiator with custom fans keeps the whole thing nice and
cool while fabricated long-tube headers handle the exhaust. You'll
also note power steering and a Wilwood master cylinder with
Hydro-Boost power assist, so this nasty Camaro is still easy to
handle in the real world.

Perhaps most
remarkably, this Camaro now sports a full perimeter frame comprised
of custom rectangular tubing that vastly reinforces the tub. The
front suspension is a custom set of A-arms with rack-and-pinion
steering, along with giant sway bars and the air suspension that
provides almost infinite adjustment. Out back there's a torque arm
and trailing links on a custom-fabricated Ford 9-inch rear end, and
there's a gigantic Baer vented and cross-drilled rotor at each
corner. The 3-inch exhaust system was beautifully fabricated and
tucks up underneath the car without any issues, and please check
out the custom oval-shaped outlets that neatly hide behind the rear
bumper. The floors were obviously custom-fabricated and are in
unmarked condition, and a custom fuel cell hangs out back. Dual
Optima batteries provide plenty of power for the air suspension and
electronics, with a cut-off switch neatly hidden behind the license
plate. Mini tubs allow the use of large-by-huge rolling
stock-19x10s up front and 20x12 Rush Forth wheels that were custom
made just for this car. Rubber is about as big as it gets, too,
with 275/30/19s up front and 345/25/20s out back.

Documentation is extensive, including build
receipts adding up to almost $335,000 (no joke!) as well as
detailed photos of the entire build from start to finish.

This was obviously a cost-no-object build for a
guy with the resources to ensure that he got the best of
everything. The workmanship is extremely impressive and the car
runs and drives superbly, so it's ready to enjoy at almost any
level. It almost didn't feel fair taking it to our local cruise
night-this car casts a very long shadow. There's far, far more to
the car than we can cover here, so please take the time to examine
the photos carefully, because they tell the real story-this is a
very special car. Killer performance, killer pedigree, and killer
looks all make for the single most spectacular Camaro we've ever
featured. Call today!Harwood Motors always recommends and welcomes
