For Sale: 1968 Chevrolet Camaro in Las Vegas, Nevada

Vehicle Description

This authentic 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is one of only 7,199 produced and has undergone a nut-and-bolt show quality restoration. It has been inspected and certified by Camaro expert Jerry MacNeish of Camaro Hi-Performance. The report and certificate of authenticity are included. This Z/28 was built in Los Angeles, CA with a production date of May 27, 1968, and sold new at Leo Hoffman Chevrolet Inc. located in La Puente, CA. This Z/28 spent its life in California and retains its original California black plates with registration that are both included. Originally ordered with a British Green and white stripes exterior, black Houndstooth interior and with the following options: AO1-tinted glass, AK1-deluxe seat belts, D55-center console, G80-positraction w/3.73 ratio, J52-power disc brakes, N21-4-speed transmission, N40-power steering, U35-electric console clock, U63-AM radio, A28-special engine and equipment package and Z87-deluxe interior. The NCRS shipping data report is included. The VIN tag and cowl tag are original. The hidden VIN number on the upper cowl area is also original and untouched. After it was inspected by Jerry MacNeish most of the vehicle components issues noted on the report were addressed for future judging purposes. The body retains most of its original sheet metal and it was painted in its original color of British Green with white stripes. As noted in MacNeish's report, the paint is excellent with nice attention to detail and a very good stripe position. All the glass is brand new and crystal clear throughout. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced such as the window trim, wipers, mirror, antenna, grille, lights, front bumper, door handles, rocker moldings, taillight bezels, rear bumper and emblems. It has a great stance on its original DF code Rally wheels with correct Goodyear Wide Oval GT bias-ply tires. The interior was restored in its original black Houndstooth deluxe material. As noted in MacNeish's report, the interior is new reproduction and very good. The original dash gauges, center console clock and seat belts were restored. The trunk compartment was also restored including the spare tire with cover and trunk mat. The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout. This Z/28 is powered by its rebuilt original matching-numbers 302/290hp V8 engine. As noted in MacNeish's report, a V0506MO assembly date, #678 block casting, cast D298, VIN stamped on deck are original engine to the vehicle. The correct date codes include the heads, aluminum snowflake intake, carburetor, water pump, starter, alternator, power steering pump and Harrison radiator. It's also equipped with the factory emissions and smog setup. The engine breathes through the correct manifolds and Gardner dual exhaust system and is coupled to the rebuilt original matching-numbers Muncie M-21 4-speed manual transmission. As noted in MacNeish's report, P8E10 assembly date, #660 transmission case, VIN stamped on the case, 18L341486 are original to the vehicle. The power is transferred to the rebuilt 12-bolt rear axle with 3.73 posi-traction ratio rear end. As noted on MacNeish's report, #860NF casting date C148 is original to the vehicle. The undercarriage is highly detailed throughout and as noted in MacNeish's report, is very good, restored to new condition, installed rear patch panels and lightly undercoated.
