Vehicle Description
This authentic 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is one of only 7,199
produced and has undergone a nut-and-bolt show quality restoration.
It has been inspected and certified by Camaro expert Jerry MacNeish
of Camaro Hi-Performance. The report and certificate of
authenticity are included. This Z/28 was built in Los Angeles, CA
with a production date of May 27, 1968, and sold new at Leo Hoffman
Chevrolet Inc. located in La Puente, CA. This Z/28 spent its life
in California and retains its original California black plates with
registration that are both included. Originally ordered with a
British Green and white stripes exterior, black Houndstooth
interior and with the following options: AO1-tinted glass,
AK1-deluxe seat belts, D55-center console, G80-positraction w/3.73
ratio, J52-power disc brakes, N21-4-speed transmission, N40-power
steering, U35-electric console clock, U63-AM radio, A28-special
engine and equipment package and Z87-deluxe interior. The NCRS
shipping data report is included. The VIN tag and cowl tag are
original. The hidden VIN number on the upper cowl area is also
original and untouched. After it was inspected by Jerry MacNeish
most of the vehicle components issues noted on the report were
addressed for future judging purposes. The body retains most of its
original sheet metal and it was painted in its original color of
British Green with white stripes. As noted in MacNeish's report,
the paint is excellent with nice attention to detail and a very
good stripe position. All the glass is brand new and crystal clear
throughout. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced
such as the window trim, wipers, mirror, antenna, grille, lights,
front bumper, door handles, rocker moldings, taillight bezels, rear
bumper and emblems. It has a great stance on its original DF code
Rally wheels with correct Goodyear Wide Oval GT bias-ply tires. The
interior was restored in its original black Houndstooth deluxe
material. As noted in MacNeish's report, the interior is new
reproduction and very good. The original dash gauges, center
console clock and seat belts were restored. The trunk compartment
was also restored including the spare tire with cover and trunk
mat. The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout. This
Z/28 is powered by its rebuilt original matching-numbers 302/290hp
V8 engine. As noted in MacNeish's report, a V0506MO assembly date,
#678 block casting, cast D298, VIN stamped on deck are original
engine to the vehicle. The correct date codes include the heads,
aluminum snowflake intake, carburetor, water pump, starter,
alternator, power steering pump and Harrison radiator. It's also
equipped with the factory emissions and smog setup. The engine
breathes through the correct manifolds and Gardner dual exhaust
system and is coupled to the rebuilt original matching-numbers
Muncie M-21 4-speed manual transmission. As noted in MacNeish's
report, P8E10 assembly date, #660 transmission case, VIN stamped on
the case, 18L341486 are original to the vehicle. The power is
transferred to the rebuilt 12-bolt rear axle with 3.73
posi-traction ratio rear end. As noted on MacNeish's report, #860NF
casting date C148 is original to the vehicle. The undercarriage is
highly detailed throughout and as noted in MacNeish's report, is
very good, restored to new condition, installed rear patch panels
and lightly undercoated. Financing available for up to twelve-year
