For Sale: 1933 Plymouth 2-Dr Business Coupe in San Diego, California

Vehicle Description

This 1933 Plymouth Model PC is a two-door business coupe finished in Empire Maroon and Black with a beige cloth interior. It is powered by a 190ci straight-six paired with a replacement overdrive-equipped three-speed manual transmission, and features include painted wire wheels, fog lights, a tilt-out windshield, a cabin heater, and a Philco radio. The car reportedly underwent a mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment under prior ownership in the 1990s, and the transmission was subsequently replaced in 2008. This Plymouth is now offered with owner’s manuals, tools, jacking equipment, and a clean California title. Featuring a 107″ wheelbase, the PC was available in five body configurations for the 1933 model year. This business coupe example wears a two-tone Empire Maroon and black finish that was applied during the 1990s refurbishment according to the seller, who notes the window glass was replaced at that time. Details include Casino Red pinstripes, Sears-Roebuck fog lights, a single windshield wiper, and a tilt-out windshield along with running boards, chrome bumpers, and Plymouth-branded taillights. The painted wire wheels wear Plymouth hubcaps and are wrapped 17″ Excelsior radial tires. A covered spare is mounted to the rear bumper. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums. Replacement beige seat upholstery is paired with color-coordinated treatments for the door panels, headliner, and carpets. Equipment includes an under-dash heater, a Philco AM radio, a three-spoke steering wheel, and manually operated windows. The selling dealer notes that the clock integrated in the mirror does not work. Centrally-positioned instrumentation provides readings for speed, fuel-level, amperage, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 89k miles. True mileage is unknown. The 190ci straight-six features a Ball & Ball carburetor and produced approximately 70 horsepower when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Borg-Warner three-speed manual transmission that is equipped with overdrive and was rebuilt and installed in 2008 according to the seller. An Optima battery was installed in 2022.
