Vehicle Description
Check out this absolutely-stunning 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS!
This gorgeous car has been extremely well-cared for by its owner,
who acquired it in 1972 when it was just three years old, having
seen it daily on his commute to work in Crystal Lake, IL. Purchased
as the second owner just before his 19th birthday, the car has been
meticulously restored over the past 51 years, always housed in a
garage with a protective cover.
It's evident that this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS has received
exceptional attention, remaining in superb condition. The
paintwork, completed in 2010, still boasts a near-flawless
appearance, a testament to the quality of the workmanship done.
Typically, paint flaws or imperfections may emerge months after a
repaint, but this paint job has stood the test of time.
Take in the beautifully straight body lines, with its glossy Garnet
Red exterior paint, black hockey stick stripes, RS front end, 14''
SS wheels equipped with BFGoodrich tires, and impeccable chrome
accents. One detail to note is the black vinyl top offset slightly
from the door trim, which offers a touch of sleek sophistication to
the roofline.
Under the hood, you'll find a robust 375-horsepower L78 396ci V8
engine, a CE replacement block installed in the 1970s. In 2018, the
engine underwent a comprehensive overhaul and has accumulated
approximately 1,800 miles over the past five years. The
transmission is a TH400 Automatic that shifts flawlessly. Aside
from the CE replacement block and the Holley 770 CFM Street Avenger
Carburetor, the car retains its original matching numbers. A true
X22 car, photos of the VIN number and decoded cowl tag can be seen
in the last 2 photos in this listing.
Inside, this RS/SS is sporting a black interior, a change made by
the owner in 2021 from the original red. The paint color closely
matches the original Garnet Red, with a slight possible variation.
This Camaro offers an excellent driving experience and features
power steering and power brakes. Beneath the car, the painted frame
and floorboards are in nice condition as well. One notable upgrade
is the addition of rack and pinion steering, offering a much more
responsive steering system. The buyer has the option to reinstall
many of the original parts, including the front bumper, radio,
steering system, suspension, headlight doors, and exhaust
manifolds.
