Vehicle Description
Owning a Morgan is all about enjoying fine craftsmanship built in
the traditional way. It makes for exceptional cars with
discriminating rarity. And this may look like a 50+ year-old sports
car, but since this is actually a 2005 Morgan Roadster, you're
going to discover some worthwhile modern features - like fuel
injection. So if you have a favorite road, this Morgan should be
the best way to celebrate it.
Morgans have a timeless sense of style. With the sweeping fenders,
pontoon headlights, rear-mounted spare tire, and ash wood frame -
it's often hard to tell the difference between a Roadster built
today and a Plus 4 model from the 1950s. Of course, a timeless
appearance is also aided by proper care. The classic hand-formed
steel body looks good in black. This is believed to be the factory
application, and on a car that has averaged under 1900 miles
annually, it continues to have a good gloss glow to let the
sunshine show off all the car's curves. We like the tasteful
additions, like the front driving lights and rear custom luggage.
And all the classic details, from the leather strap over the hood
(bonnet) to the wire wheels with genuine knock-off hubs, deliver
the feeling of a true classic European sports car. So the overall
impression is a proper driver that still would never be accused of
being a road warrior.
There is a nice black roof for when you want to get the sunshine
off your shoulders, but really, a roadster like this was meant to
be open to the world. After all, the full ark green interior looks
elegant against the black exterior. As you look around inside, you
realize that this is the true advantage of a later model Morgan.
There are features here that were not around in the previous
decades. It includes nicely contoured bucket seats, shoulder
seatbelts, an airbag steering wheel on a tilt column, a passenger
airbag, power front disc brakes, and an AM/FM radio with auxiliary
input. You even have full provisions for modern R134a air
conditioning (it will need servicing to blow cold again.) You still
get the right classic features like a beautiful wood dash and a
shifter in the ideal position that feels like it's an extension of
your right arm. So it's updated for more modern times while still
delivering the proper vintage charm.
The Morgan Roadster generation is also great for a more modern
powerhouse. The 3.0-liter Duratec V6 was used by everyone across
the Ford family from Mercury to Jaguar, and it found a useful home
in the Morgan, too. After all, it was quite a bit more powerful
than many previous motors used in other generations of this
lightweight car, and you also have the ease of electronic fuel
injection. The driving experience is maximized as you row through
the gears of the five-speed transmission. Your senses will go into
overload as the wind whips through the interior, and you help
create the wonderful soundtrack from the motor. It gives you an
instant connection to this classic machine that makes Morgans one
of the most enthusiast-driven brands out there.
Rare, beautiful, and always a class act - a Morgan provides true
