The Diamond Jubilee Thunderbird is a one year only model that was built to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Ford Motor Company. This Special Edition T-Bird was the most luxurious Thunderbird built and came with an incredibly long list of standard features.
1978 Diamond Jubilee Thunderbird is Ember Metallic in color, unique to the Diamond Jubilee Edition. It has 92,300 actual miles, a 5.8L, 351 V8 Engine and Equipped with an automatic transmission, power steering, fingertip speed control, power door locks, power driver seat, power antenna, and power trunk release. There are working sun visor illuminated vanity mirrors. Sound System is an AM/FM radio with quad tape. Original Leather stitched dash pad, color keyed wheels, grill & bumper rub strips, Diamond Jubilee script in the opera windows. The extra thick 36 ounce cut pile carpet in passenger compartment and color keyed carpet in trunk area with carpeted liner on trunk lid as well as carpeted spare tire cover is all original. The owner’s manual is in good condition and the original window sticker is readable but poor condition. Power door locks do not work.
The padded vinyl roof has been restored. All the seats have been recovered matching the fabric as close as possible to original. There is a vacuum leak for the headlight covers that is in need of repair.
This Diamond Jubilee Thunderbird looks nice and runs nice.
